Dr. Rucha Thakkar is currently a PGY-2 Pediatric Dentistry Resident at One Brooklyn Health, Brookdale Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Gujarat University in India before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the NYU College of Dentistry. During her time at NYU, she graduated with honors in Pediatric Dentistry and served as the President of the NYU Peds Club. Dr. Thakkar’s clinical philosophy is deeply rooted in the power of prevention and early detection to help children establish positive, lifelong associations with oral healthcare. A passionate advocate for policy change, she recently represented residents at the AAPD Advocacy Conference to champion funding for children's oral health initiatives. Outside of the clinic, Rucha is a professionally trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She loves maintaining an active lifestyle with Pilates, attending live music festivals and concerts, and connecting with new people to hear their unique stories.
