431 - Management of Trauma Using Patient’s Natural Crown As A Pontic: A Case Report Choe, K University of Nevada Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV

Abstract: Patient presented with a fractured maxillary incisor following traumatic injury. The affected tooth had a history of complete avulsion and subsequent endodontic treatment. Recurrent trauma resulted in a hopeless prognosis, creating functional and esthetic challenges in the anterior maxilla. This case report describes a conservative, multidisciplinary approach to manage the compromised tooth while addressing the resulting missing tooth space. The fractured natural clinical crown was repurposed as a pontic and stabilized using a lingual splinting technique to restore esthetics, maintain space, and preserve patient comfort during growth. This approach provided an immediate esthetic solution while minimizing additional trauma and preserving future treatment options. Follow-up visits were completed, and discussions are ongoing regarding definitive treatment to restore long-term function and space. Clinical considerations, treatment rationale, and short-term outcomes are presented, highlighting a practical alternative for managing complex anterior dental trauma in pediatric patients.
