Malik N. Walters, DDS, is a second-year pediatric dental resident at the University of Illinois Chicago. A proud native of Maryland, Dr. Walters began his journey in dentistry by earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Driven by a passion to serve underserved communities, he continued his education at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned both his Master of Health Science (MHS) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees, embracing Meharry’s motto of “Worship of God Through Service to Mankind.”
Dr. Walters is dedicated to improving the oral health of his patients and is currently completing his specialized training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago. In addition to his residency, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Oral Sciences through the UIC College of Dentistry. He strives to create positive experiences for his young patients, with a particular interest in compassionate, gentle care for children with special healthcare needs.
His clinical approach emphasizes patient comfort, education, and individualized care, helping children and their families feel confident in their dental experiences. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Walters enjoys playing guitar, going on nature walks, and spending time with family and friends.
