NYU Langone Brooklyn
Dr. Kelsey Cho is a current PGY 2 resident at NYU Langone in Brooklyn, NY.
In high school, while volunteering at a local homeless shelter, Dr. Cho first realized her passion for community dentistry after realizing that there were barely any oral hygiene resources available for the community compared to the plethora of other resources. Dr. Cho narrowed down her interests into serving the pediatric special needs community after shadowing a pediatric dentist at St Anne’s, a dental clinic in Milwaukee that treats patients with special needs. Individually, Dr. Cho pursued community service opportunities involving children with special needs: whether it’s helping to provide free dental care or helping that same population rock climb. Dr. Cho then brought these opportunities and more to the dental school through her involvement as Community Service chair of multiple organizations including ASDA, Special Care Dentistry Organization, and Asian Dental Student Organization. Dr Cho has continued to follow her goal to serve the pediatric community by pursuing a pediatric dental residency at NYU Langone Brooklyn.
Some fun facts about Dr Cho include her passion for music – she has played alto sax in jazz band from high school throughout college. In addition to the saxophone, she has taken piano and violin lessons since grade school and plays guitar independently, with the electric guitar being her favorite. When not playing or listening to music, you can always find her at a concert or music festival in the meantime.
