Dr. Franklin Zhang, DMD, MPH is a PGY-3 pediatric dental resident at the University of California, San Francisco, where he is completing the Pediatric Dentistry 3-Year Program. He earned his M.P.H. from San José State University and received his D.M.D. from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he served as ASDA Vice President and conducted research on communication techniques and teledentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital. He earned his B.A. in Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences from Rice University, along with a Certificate in Spanish.
Originally from Plano, Texas, with family now in San Jose, California, Dr. Zhang developed his interest in pediatric dentistry during a Global Dental and Medical Brigades trip to Honduras. His research with CavityFree SF and the San Francisco Department of Public Health focuses on dental appointment availability for young children.
