Paola M. Rosario-Colón, DMD, is a Chief Resident (PGY-2) in the Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2024 from the University of Puerto Rico and will complete her specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2026.
Dr. Rosario-Colón is actively involved in clinical care, academic leadership, and undergraduate education. Her clinical interests include behavior guidance, management of early childhood caries and minimally invasive dentistry. She is committed to delivering patient-centered care while promoting evidence-based practices in pediatric dentistry.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Rosario-Colón is engaged in research focused on the oral microbiome and the impact of environmental and psychosocial stressors on early childhood oral health. Her work investigates how prenatal maternal stress associated with natural disasters, such as Hurricane Maria, influences oral microbial profiles in mother–child dyads in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Rosario-Colón is dedicated to improving access to oral healthcare for underserved populations and advancing pediatric oral health outcomes in Puerto Rico. She is passionate about education, mentorship, and community outreach, and she aspires to continue integrating clinical excellence with academic and research contributions throughout her professional career.
