Bailey Axelrad is a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) candidate at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine, with an anticipated graduation in 2028. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology, where she developed a strong foundation in innovation and technology-driven problem solving.
At Stevens, Bailey was exposed to interdisciplinary approaches that emphasized applying scientific and technological tools to real-world challenges. She has carried this mindset into her dental research at Roseman, where she focuses on integrating emerging technologies into clinical dentistry.
Her research centers on the application of machine learning to intraoral imaging to better characterize dental caries and relate lesion morphology to clinical severity and treatment planning. She is particularly interested in how data-driven approaches can enhance diagnostic accuracy and support clinical decision-making in pediatric populations.
In addition to her research, Bailey is actively involved in community service initiatives such as Give Kids A Smile, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and Head Start dental screenings, where she provides care and oral health education to children in underserved communities. These experiences have reinforced her passion for pediatric dentistry and improving access to care.
Bailey plans to pursue advanced training in pediatric dentistry and continue incorporating innovation and technology into patient-centered care.
