Dr. Daranee Versluis-Tantbirojn is a Tenured Professor and Director of Dental Materials in the Department General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, Master of Science in Biomaterials from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Doctoral degree in Oral Biology with minor in Material Science from the University of Minnesota in 1998. She started her academic career in the Department of Operative Dentistry at Chulalongkorn University, joined the University of Minnesota from 2003-2010, before moving to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in 2010. In addition to her main responsibilities of didactic, preclinical, and clinical teaching in Operative, Dr. Versluis-Tantbirojn has mentored more than 50 dental students and residents at UTHSC in their research projects and has authored and co-authored more than 110 publications in peer-review journals with diverse topics in restorative, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. She has been awarded two United States patents. Her research expertise is dental materials related to restorative dentistry, dental caries, and tooth erosion. Dr. Versluis-Tantbirojn has served as a reviewer for professional journals, among others, Dental Materials, JADA, American Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry, and Pediatric Dentistry.
