Cristina M. Kossak, DAT, MBA, ATC, is the Associate Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Pennsylvania, where she oversees the delivery of comprehensive sports medicine services for varsity student-athletes. A licensed athletic trainer in Pennsylvania, Dr. Kossak specializes in injury prevention, emergency care, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for collegiate athletes, with primary coverage including men’s basketball, and squash.
In her role within Penn Athletics, Dr. Kossak collaborates closely with team physicians, physical therapists, sports dietitians, and performance staff to coordinate interdisciplinary care that supports both athlete health and performance. She plays a key leadership role in developing departmental policies, emergency action plans, and continuing education initiatives for sports performance staff.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Kossak is actively engaged in professional development and education. She serves as a clinical preceptor for graduate athletic training students and has contributed to the planning of major sports medicine events, including the Ivy Sports Medicine Symposium and Ivy League Medical Meeting.
Dr. Kossak earned her Doctor of Athletic Training and Master of Business Administration from Moravian University, a Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Leadership from James Madison University, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Boston University. \
