University of Alabama at Birmingham
I was born and raised in Greece, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During my training, I further broadened my clinical and academic experience through a six-month exchange program at the University of Turku in Finland.
Following graduation, I practiced dentistry in Greece and worked with a nonprofit organization serving children, where I provided dental care to children without stable housing and refugee populations. This experience was instrumental in shaping my understanding of the critical role that effective communication and access to interpreter services play in delivering equitable pediatric dental care. At the same time, I completed graduate studies in Medical Research Methodology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine, where I received training in research design, data analysis, data mining, and coding.
I am currently a Board-Eligible Pediatric Dentistry resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I am also pursuing a Master of Science in Dentistry. My clinical training includes comprehensive pediatric dental care across hospital and outpatient settings, with extensive experience in treating medically complex patients, dental trauma, oral conscious sedation, and full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in research focused on healthcare disparities, particularly the impact of language barriers on pediatric dental outcomes. I also serve as a graduate teaching assistant, contributing to the education and mentorship of dental students.
Fluent in Greek, English, Spanish, and French, I am committed to delivering culturally competent, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
