NYU Langone Pediatric Dental Residency
Dr. Michelle Stegmann was born in Albuquerque, NM. Growing up in the mountains on a farm and around family that was in the medical field, she developed a passion for helping both animals and people around her. When she volunteered at an event in college, called Healthy Smiles, she saw first-hand how the lack of access to dental care not only affects the oral health but can affect someone's overall health and their self-esteem. After that event, she found her passion and attended dental school at Midwestern University-Arizona. While attending dental school, she got a Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University. After graduating dental school, she followed her love for the underserved and took a general dental position at a FQHC in Springfield, IL. With the majority of her patients being children and those with special needs, she found that she has a particular love for working with them. She decided to specialize in Pediatrics and was accepted into the Pediatric Dental Residency program at NYU-Langone at their Columbia, MO site. During her residency, she also got a certification in Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopment and Related disabilities through the University of Missouri. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family, exploring new sites and trying new restaurants.
