Sydney Sorensen is a dental student at Roseman College of Dental Medicine with an interest in pediatric dentistry and preventive care. She is presenting her research, “Beyond Sugar: Nutrient Patterns and Dental Caries Risk in US Children Using Explainable Machine Learning,” at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry conference. Her interests include caries prevention, the role of nutrition in oral health, and using data to better understand patient outcomes. She is especially interested in helping improve oral health education and making dental care more approachable for kids.
