Ryan Zanganeh is a rising 4th year dental student at New York University College of Dentistry (Class of 2027) with a strong interest in pediatric dentistry. He is actively involved in clinical care, research, and student leadership, currently serving as the Student Government Alumni Affairs Representative and Co-Founder of the Nutrition & Dentistry Club.
Ryan’s research focuses on the oral–gut microbiome axis, with particular emphasis on pediatric Crohn’s disease and its relationship to oral health and disease activity. He is also a passionate advocate for preventive care and diet in dentistry, having led initiatives to improve access to healthier food options within the dental school through a Farmer's Fridge vending machine. In addition, Ryan has delivered a widely viewed TEDtalk highlighting his battle after being diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age 12 and how he ultimately overcame it.
Ryan aspires to pursue pediatric dental residency, with a focus on treating medically complex children and integrating systemic health (diet and exercise) into comprehensive dental care.
