Julia (Minjung) Kim, DMD, MS, is a second-year pediatric dental resident at Penn Dental Medicine and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Penn Dental Medicine in 2024, graduating with honors in pediatric dentistry and community oral health. Dr. Kim also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed her undergraduate studies at Wellesley College.
Before pursuing dentistry, Dr. Kim worked as a data analyst at Mass General Brigham, where she developed a strong appreciation for effective, patient-centered care informed by data. She brings this perspective into her clinical training, along with a genuine passion for working with children and families. Her commitment to service has included participation in a dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic, where she provided care to underserved communities and deepened her interest in improving access to care.
Dr. Kim has been recognized with several awards, including the Delta Dental Community Scholarship, the ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarship, the Penn Dental Medicine Pediatric Dental Health Award and Excellence in Oral Health Scholarship.
Dr. Kim is particularly interested in pediatric preventive dentistry and community oral health. She strives to create a supportive, positive environment where children feel comfortable and empowered, and she is passionate about helping patients build healthy habits that last a lifetime.
