My name is Nathalia Hernandez, DMD, and I am a PGY‑2 resident in pediatric dentistry at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida. I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2024, after completing my undergraduate studies in 2020. Following dental school, I relocated to Florida to pursue advanced training in pediatric dentistry. Originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, I developed a passion for pediatric dentistry while volunteering with Head Start programs and providing dental screenings for underserved children in Hartford, CT. These formative experiences shaped my commitment to advocacy and community-based care. As a Colombian-American, I value culturally competent communication and strive to reduce barriers to oral health care for diverse populations. I look forward to returning to Connecticut to practice pediatric dentistry and continue serving underserved children and families.
