Jae Chul Lee, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His work centers on oral health equity for people with disabilities, with expertise spanning population-level disparities research and applied workforce development. Since 2013, he has collaborated with state agencies, dental providers, and disability organizations to improve access and care quality, including developing training modules for the dental workforce in Delaware and for the dental workforce and caregivers in Indiana. These efforts were based on multi-year, statewide oral-health initiatives supported by HRSA and a state Developmental Disabilities Council. He also designs and evaluates accessible health curricula for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His work integrates data driven insight with practical tools to strengthen disability competent care.
