Lauren E. Eccles received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2022 with minors in environmental engineering and leadership studies. While at the University of Tennessee, Lauren conducted research on the synthesis and characterization of high-purity feldspar minerals, received multiple academic and leadership awards, and contributed to STEM outreach and service programs. During her Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Florida, she worked in the Stoppel Lab exploring how silk protein sequence, structure, and composition influence material properties, self-assembly behavior, and cellular response of protein-based biomaterials.
