Dr. Brandon Key earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Spanish from the University of New Mexico, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from UT Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry. He graduated valedictorian of his class with a distinction in research. After dental school, Dr. Key completed a 3-year dental anesthesiology residency at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and University Hospital. Dr. Key is a diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Key joined the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry’s Bernard and Gloria Pepper Katz Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2023. Since then, he has served on the anesthesia staff at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and as a clinical faculty member at the school of dentistry. He provides sedation and anesthesia for pediatric and adult patients in both office and hospital settings. He is actively involved in clinical and didactic dental education, research, and organized dentistry. His research interests include pediatric sedation and anesthesia, perioperative medicine, patient safety, and post-surgical pain management. Dr. Key is originally from the beautiful state of New Mexico, but now happily calls Houston his home with his wife, who is also a devoted UTHealth doctor.
