I am Jason Yu, a PhD candidate in Applied Physics and a graduate researcher in the Hekstra Lab at Harvard University. I have a cross-disciplinary background spanning physics, biological sciences, and optical imaging, and my research focuses on single-cell spontaneous Raman microspectroscopy to enable high-throughput, chemically rich, and spatiotemporally resolved imaging of living systems. My work includes implementing photonic systems, developing software to control self-assembled microscopes, and creating analytical methods to extract meaningful insights from complex spectral data. I am motivated by integrating physical principles with biological applications to better understand cellular processes at the single-cell level.
