Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this retrospective study is to examine the population of patients who received encounters with Tri-County’s Pediatric Residents at Brown University Health Children’s Hospital Emergency Department and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and evaluate the percentage of these patients who remained as patients of records for continuing dental care at Tri-County.

Methods: Patient data was collected from Tri-County’s Healthcare software, NextGen. Date includes patient ages ranging between 0-21 who were seen at either at the hospital by a Tri-County provider and return for a subsequent comprehensive or periodic examination appointment. Dates included in the study will be between January 1st 2025 – August 1st 2025. Patients were sorted into 2 categories depending on if they established continued care with Tri-County or if they never attended a follow up/decided to continue with a different dental provider.

Results: Upon compilation of data completion, full descriptive statistical analysis will be completed.
